What’s inside Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones Package?

The Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones come in a black carton of modest design. Looking at the box, you won’t think that a rather serious model is hidden inside. This approach impresses me. Modesty and self-confidence are pleasant. But the idea of marketers, it seems to me, went further, and the modest appearance of the packaging does not allow the buyer to create an overly high expectation of quality. The first surprise arises when serious headphones are removed from a modest box, and the second when you hear the result of their work, but more on that below.

Equipment

The standard package includes:

  1. Headphones;
  2. Audio cable with 3.5 mm jack;
  3. Micro-USB cable;
  4. Hard case;
  5. Instruction;
  6. Adapter for using headphones in an airplane.

Design of Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

Mixcder E10 is an on-ear wireless headphone with active noise canceling system. From the photos, you can decide that these are full-size headphones, but this is not so. Yes, the cups’ size inspires, and the earpads are not inferior in diameter to many full-sized competitors, but the ears are designed so that the earlobe will always be under the ear cushion and not inside it. So, this is, albeit not purebred, but on-ear headphones. Fortunately, such a landing did not affect comfort; listening to headphones is convenient for several hours in a row, except that the ears sweat slightly.

Headband

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

I can’t say with certainty what material was used for the headband frame. To the touch, it seems that there is a thin bar inside with a wire running in the center connecting the left and right headphone drivers. Let’s assume that a strong elastic plastic is used inside not to give the structure an excessive load for which it is not designed.

The headband itself is completely upholstered with soft black leatherette, and on the underside, there is a foam lining for a comfortable fit to the head.

When listening to music, the headband on the head is felt but does not cause discomfort, so that I will assess the level of convenience as high.

The length of the extension is small – 3 cm on each side, but this should be enough for most listeners.

When sliding, the feeling is noble. The clicks are soft but very elastic, as in the best models of competitors. It is nice to use this function. It gives additional confidence in the good build quality of the Mixcder E10.

Bowls

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

The headphone cups are entirely made of high-quality plastic, and on the outside, they are successfully stylized as vinyl.

All controls are located on the right bowl. For the left, there is a modest Micro-USB socket.

The bowls fold into the structure and rotate around their own axis, which allows them to achieve a high level of comfort on heads of any shape and size.

Each bowl has one microphone for active noise canceling.

Ear pads

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

The earbuds of the Mixcder E10 came out wide, soft, deep, and comfortable. The cup filler is soft but resilient, making it possible to listen for a long time without discomfort. The manufacturer does not indicate what type of filler is used: foam or memory foam. My feelings remained mixed. With prolonged use, I noticed that the earpads behave as if inside a foam. Over time, they adapt to the shape of the ear and become less noticeable. On the other hand, with thoughtful palpation with their hands, it seemed to me that there was foam rubber inside.

As I mentioned above, the fit in the ear is somewhat unusual: the upper part of the auricle is entirely placed in the ear cushions’ inner space, but the earlobe, at least in my case, always turned down, which slightly reduced comfort. Nevertheless, even with such a landing during testing, I listened to music without regret and watched films for a long time, and my ears did not get tired. The longest listening session reached 4 hours.

Microphone

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

The Mixcder E10, of course, has a microphone for making phone calls. I conducted several test conversations. My interlocutors noted that I heard well. The timbre of the voice was preserved, although it sounded a bit from afar. Words were heard clearly; there was no need to ask again.

But the microphone does not have a noise filtering system, so it will be difficult to talk in a noisy place, the interlocutors will hear both the neighbor’s drill and the noise of the car’s engine.
Convenience

The Mixcder E10 wireless headphones are comfortable, the ear pads are soft, and the headband does not put much pressure on your head. In general, I will say that the model was a success; during long-term listening, the headphones do not want to be fixed, to stay on the head reliably, but without undue pressure.

I do not advise; they will fall off the head with their active movement during the exercise.

The control buttons are located well, you get to them in a couple of hours, and in the fclicks occur unmistakably future clicks d that the buttons are ordinary, not touch-sensitive, which means that it is possible to press them in any situations: if your hands are wet, dirty or in gloves.

Active noise reduction

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

I am pleased when once advanced technologies, costing a lot of money, gradually turn into the category accessible to most potential consumers. A few years ago, active noise-canceling headphones were expensive, and only a few brands made them, such as Sony or Bose.

Today we got noise reduction in the Mixcder E10, and it works quite efficiently, especially considering the affordable price of headphones.

Active noise reduction works according to a simple principle: there is a special microphone that constantly listens to ambient sound in each bowl. Inside the headphones, special emitters generate the same sound as outside, but in antiphase. As a result, these waves cancel each other out, and you listen to music with comfort.

The noise reduction efficiency in the Mixcder E10 is quite high. However, it loses to the leader in the faceSony’s Sonyoise canceling is activated, the surrounding sounds become noticeably quieter, especially low-frequency ones. The high-frequency sound is suppressed the worst of all. This is done specifically to significantly reduce unpleasant noise from the transport or the airplane’s turbine’s operation, but at the same time so that you can hear at least something if a person speaks to you or a car signals.

When activating noise reduction, I did not notice the effect of stuffy ears, which is sometimes found in other manufacturers. However, if Sony and Bose were able to ensure that the noise reduction almost does not affect the sound quality of music, in Mixcder E10, its effect is noticeable.

So, when you turn on noise reduction, the music becomes less low, and the middle frequencies become slightly less detailed. The effect is not large but noticeable.

With the Mixcder E10 headphones, you can safely ride the subway. You will still hear the car’s sound, but not so loud and intrusive that it will make the trip less harmful to health.

Wireless Connection

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

The Mixcder E10 is equipped with a modern Bluetooth 5.0 module, and this is not the end of my surprise because the manufacturer provided it with support for SBC, aptX, and, most importantly, aptX LL codecs.

The aptX LL codec allows you to transmit high-quality sound without wires and significantly reduces the delay.

I’ll say that the Mixcder E10 headphones are one of the few that doesn’t cause any discomfort when watching a movie because the sound plays exactly when it should actually sound. For the same reason, the Mixcder E10 is great for computer games – there is no delay in playing sound, which means that the results of the game will be higher, as if you are using wired headphones.

In fairness, I’ll say that wired headphones still provide better delay, the apt X LL codec gives somewhere 30-40 ms of lag, but this is nothing compared to what the lag gives the common SBC codec, which is approximately 140 ms, which is already clearly visible even to an unprepared listener.

The source’s distance where the Mixcder E10 works stably during testing with the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE phone (Bluetooth 5.0) and the Sennheiser BT 100 computer transmitter (Bluetooth 4.2) was about 10 meters.

Battery life

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

The manufacturer claims that the Mixcder E10 lasts up to 30 hours with active noise reduction and up to 35 hours with it turned off. In my testing, the operating time reached 29 hours without noise reduction and 27 hours with it.

I note that your case results may vary because they depend on the level of environmental pollution by radio waves.

In any case, the result is excellent. With normal use, the Mixcder E10 will have to be charged no more than once a week.

Speaking of charging, engineers built into the headphones another surprise – fast charging. Just 10 minutes of network connection will give you about 3 hours of wireless work.

A full charge takes 1 hour.

I note that to test the charging time, I connected them to the charger from the phone Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, supporting this function. If you connect the headphones to normal charging, the time will be long.

Sound in computer games

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

I usually don’t test wireless headphones in games because of the lack of support for the aptX LL codec. To play a game and constantly notice a delay in playing a sound is a dubious pleasure. But not in the case of Mixcder E10.

I tested the headphones on the phone, played mobile games, and played serious complex games with the computer.

Testing was conducted in the following games: Alien Isolation, SOMA, Battlefield 4, Anthem, and Escape From Tarkov.

Sound Mixcder E10 for games fits well. They gave a soft sound with amplified low frequencies and muffled highs while sufficient detail in the midrange to hear squeaks, rustles, and other manifestations of the enemy around the corner.

The explosions sound convincing, powerful, and solid, easy to navigate in space. Mixcder E10 reproduces a good stereo panorama. Not ideal, but, say, sufficient to not pay attention to this aspect during active play.

Headphones do a good job not only with the powerful, comprehensive sound of explosions or shots but also with much more delicate effects, like chirping insects, creaking floorboards, or distant clicking of a wall clock.

The sound is pleasant, soft, deep, at times viscous, like bee honey just pumped into a vat. Perhaps for thoughtful listening to music in high quality, this setting is not always justified, but it suits well for games. By the way, the high frequencies pushed to the background allow you to slow down your hearing more slowly, which makes long gaming sessions paired with the Mixcder E10 leave you more vitality.

The quality of the transmitted sound using the aptX LL codec is enough to be compared with competitors’ wired gaming headsets. Simultaneously, the codec provides excellent responsiveness; the sound delay in games is not noticeable, which means it is comfortable to play.

Of course, I was interested, and therefore I have long compared the delay between wired headphones and the Mixcder E10 running over Bluetooth. After a long monotonous test, I came to the conclusion that the delay is rarely noticeable, but it is so small that it can be neglected, and if I hadn’t got wired headphones on hand, I wouldn’t notice it. From this, I conclude that the aptX LL codec provides a sufficiently short response time so that the user does not worry about it and does not notice it.

Sound quality when playing music

Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones

This description will focus on wireless connectivity. This is true because why buy wireless headphones with active noise reduction and listen to them through the wire? This model is for the street.

I’ll open the cards right away – these are not audiophile headphones, they noticeably color the sound, so lovers of the pure, true sound of your favorite Mixcder E10 songs will not work. But what are they capable of?

Engineers tuned the sound of the Mixcder E10 the way most novice listeners want – the low frequencies are amplified, the mid frequencies are softened. They have enough detail to make it pleasant to listen to the performer’s acoustic instruments and vocals, and the high frequencies receded into the background. HF is audible, they are present in the melody, but they do not set the mood.

As a result, the sound turned out powerful, dynamic, but at the same time, soft and even vicious. This combination allows you to achieve several goals simultaneously: from the first seconds of listening. A novice music lover will like it, give powerful emotions, not push it away, perhaps with the excessive detail and sparkle of sound that audiophile headphones give. Not for nothing Beats products are so popular, although their headphones are very far from honest, clear sound.

Low frequencies are not inflated. They do not smack, do not thump, but sound accentuated and moderately detailed. I don’t think that in Mixcder E10, it is possible to hear the bass’s layering or its smallest shades carefully, but to play popular and electronic music on the road, more is not required. The bass is moderately assembled, capacious, and impressive; it is perfectly tuned for sounding during a trip or walk.

Mid frequencies allow you to listen to vocals with pleasure, both male and female, hear all the melody’s instruments and even distinguish shades. Although the overall resolution of the sound I will not call high, it is enough to listen to music. Acoustic instruments sound convincing, full-bodied, although they do not penetrate the soul due to the departure of overtones at high frequencies into the background.

High frequencies are clean, although muffled, do not creak, and sound appropriate for such a sound tuning. I listened to the synthetic test for reproducing the entire audible frequency range and confirm that the driver is playing the claimed range. There is no catch.

Summing up the sound, I will say that the Mixcder E10 pleasantly surprised me. I did not expect active noise-canceling headphones for the price that they are asking for such a serious, albeit far from standard, sound. This is no longer Chinese. The sound resembles a product of serious companies, which is an excellent application for future brand achievements.

Conclusion: Should you buy Mixcder E10 Wireless Headphones?
